About Dr Roos 

Dr. Roos is a dynamic specialist surgeon with a keen interest in minimally invasive, bariatric, and hernia surgery. On top of her love for general surgery, she is currently enhancing her expertise through a fellowship in upper GI and bariatric surgery under Dr. Thinus Smit, aiming to refine her surgical skills and grow as a specialist. Prior to specializing,

Dr. Roos served as a General Practitioner in Pretoria for two years and gained valuable experience in the ICU at Baragwanath Hospital and the surgical unit at Ngwelezana Hospital in KwaZulu-Natal. Outside the operating room, she enjoys competing in triathlons, spending quality time with family and friends, and traveling.

SASES

Dr Roos is a member of SASES. The SASES Society was established to promote high standards of endoscopic surgery in South Africa. It will disseminate knowledge and training via academic meetings, training courses and sponsorships.

Surgicom

As a member of Surgicom, Dr Roos is working with all the relevant role players in private practice in SA, to ensure that general surgery and bariatric surgery remains sustainable and cost effective and continues to provide a very necessary service in the private health care sector in SA.
